Tiny conifers for winter containers and window boxes

POSTED BY KIM — Just because fall is here and winter is around the corner, don’t let your window boxes and containers go to heck.  I think a well-decorated winter container is almost more important than a summer container because

late in the year, it’s often gray and bleak outside — there’s nothing colorful for the eye to fall on.  At least in the spring and summer months there’s *something* blooming around, even if your containers aren’t in tip-top shape.

Tina Paletta will be giving a talk this Saturday, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m. at Sugar Creek.  She’s got a ton of great ideas for making those pots and window boxes really sing this year.

We’re carrying a new line of miniature evergreens that are perfect for this kind of thing.  They’re just the right scale and are hardy for our zone, so when spring rolls around you can move them to the ground, try them in a different container arrangement, or just leave them and fill in with some fresh pansies or warm-seasons annuals.

Or ask Tina — she’ll know just what to do!

Go crazy!
