Can you smell it??
POSTED BY KIM — Because of our wet spring, we saw a resurgence of interest in lilacs, which were at peak performance this year. Lilacs are an old-fashioned plant the evokes fond childhood memories for many people. And when in full bloom, they really are hard to beat.
A new lilac we’ll be carrying in 2009 is the re-blooming lilac ‘Josee.’ We worked hard to track down this baby and we hope to have it in the nursery by mid-May. Josee grows to about 5 feet tall and will bloom in late spring. Performs best in fulls un. With a little TLC — meaning water and some fertilizer — it will continue to re-bloom throughout the rest of the summer until frost. WOW!
Use this shrub as a nice hedge for some privacy, in a cutting garden, or as a specimen plant in a perennial garden. And lilacs are deer-resistant.
We’ll also be carrying the dwarf favorite Syringa pubescens ’Miss Kim,’ and the gorgeous lilac tree, Syringa reticulata.

When do you plan lilacs–and are there any everblooming ones left? Thanks
