Have you ever seen anything more beautiful??

POSTED BY KIM — I looked out my second-story bathroom window this morning and could see the pulmonaria blooming below.  WOW.  Pulmonaria, or sometimes called lungwort, is one of my all-time favorite perennials for the shade or morning sun, because you get vibrant blooms in the spring, then you enjoy the interesting spotted foliage the rest of the summer.

We’re carrying a very nice selection of these right now at Sugar Creek — most in bloom:

o  Opal
o  Diana Clare
o  Majeste
o  Coral Springs
o  Samourai

The Missouri Botanical Gardens website said that the plant is sometimes called lungwort because the spotted leaves look like a diseased lung.  Ewww!  I’ll stick with “pulmonaria,” thank you…

I think this one is Rasberry Splash (lost the tag).

I live in Jackson, near Cape Girardeau, MO. I love to come to St. Louis to buy from Sugar Creek. I have already made my wish list and I’m dying to shop!!! I look forward to reading each and every blog. Thanks for the great read!! It’s good to share the garden fever. I’m so crazy that I posted pics of my blooming bulbs on my facebook wall. Anyway, thanks and hope to see you all soon. P.S. Try to save some of that Peppermint Twist Phlox for me! :)
