POSTED BY PEGGY: We held our breath, we waited……The new ‘White Out’ Rose has arrived at Sugar Creek Gardens. It’s everything we expected and more. THE BEST WHITE SHUB ROSE ON THE MARKET!

White Out Rose
“Tirelessly floriferous, its blooms complementing every other color in the garden. From the same breeder as the remarkable Pink and Red Knock Outs that we love so much. This handsome ‘White Out’ has masses of single, simple blooms, with the vigor and disease resistance of modern hybrids. No more mildew, rust, or Japanese beetles to decimate the foliage by midsummer! Very free-blooming and determined to repeat from late spring until frost, White Out is a glorious addition to any garden.
Measuring 3 to 3 1/2 inches wide, these snowy blooms delight with their frilly yellow center and large, overlapping petals. They begin blooming in late spring, continuing in great waves through summer and autumn, only ceasing when the first frost nips them back. Self-cleaning with a slightly citrusy fragrance, they evoke freshness in the garden.
The foliage is exceptional as well, a very dark shade of green that looks almost charcoal from a distance. The play of black-and-white is very effective over the long bloom season of White Out,™ creating a dramatic impact in the border, as a hedge, or in containers. And with White Out’s™ terrific resistance to mildew, rust, and Japanese beetles, these leaves keep their beauty far longer than many other Roses — without spraying!
3 1/2 feet high and wide, it remains compact all season. Thriving in partial shade (it needs only about 4 hours of sun), it blooms best in full sunshine and in any well-drained garden soil. Easy, hard-working, and beautiful season after season, White Out™ is a lovely addition to the landscape. Zones 5-9.”
I found this description of the White Out rose on the Wayside Gardens Catalog. Too bad they are SOLD OUT!!!!!!! We have lots of the new ‘White Out’ on hand at Sugar Creek.
Looks like a winner to me!!!

The white out rose is a
Radler rose, but it is not a knockout rose. It is still suceptible to blackspot. It is the hardiest white rose out there, but it is not hardy enough to be a knockout rose.
